New Portrush Train Station Development - Update

Work continues to progress on the £5.6 million Portrush Train Station project.
A recent development in the scheme has seen a significant new atrium feature installed above the main station concourse, facilitating natural light and acting as a notable feature of the building.
Platform works are nearing completion, and work on the canopies has also progressed well, with necessary cladding works having commenced.
The station building itself is making good progress, with mechanical and electrical works ongoing – cladding of the structure will commence in the near future in order to enhance the exterior of the station.  When complete, this work will set the station apart as a Portrush landmark, making a welcoming impression on visitors to the town.
The gateway images for Eglinton Street, as voted for by the public last summer, will capture the spirit and essence of the North Coast, showcasing some synonymous events and sights including the North West 200, the International Air Show, coastal views, and of course, golf, helping to cement the station’s potential as a landmark.  Manufacturing of the necessary structures has now commenced, and we look forward to this major gateway feature for Portrush reaching completion ahead of the station’s opening.  Associated stonework in Eglinton Street also continue to progress.
